Progress Report

Here is what I have so far...  I am going to add gradients to the roses and maybe play around with the water a little more.

Project One Idea

For our first project, the character I create will be an old-fashioned pin up girl.  For those of you who do not know what a pin up girl is:   In the forties, during the war, the soldiers all had pictures pinned up in their lockers of sexy girls in sexy poses.  Some of the soldiers even got tattoos of these pin up girls.  The character I create is going to look like one of these old-fashioned tattoos.  I need to think a little more about what the girl is going to be doing, what kind of background she will be in.  But here are some samples of vintage pin up girl tattoos.

Artist-a-Day - Olga Gouskova

I loved this picture because the feeling is mysterious and melancholic.  It reminds me of an homage to Gustav Klimt because it depicts a reclining woman surrounded by a somewhat elaborate background.  This painting feels very intimate and personal.

About Me

Hi!!  I am Victoria Insinna.  I already took this class once and now I am taking it again.  As you may know, you can take the class four times.  I can understand why.  It is a lot of material – it seems to take more than one semester to absorb it all.  I am taking this class again with the hope of becoming more skilled at using the digital art programs.  I am not quite sure of my educational goals or my career goals, but I do know that I enjoy doing digital art.  I may go in the direction of website design.  I took a website design class at El Camino last semester and created two websites that I am quite proud of.  Here are the links.
